PEOPLE AT WORK ONLINE is a collection of my articles on career concerns and workplace issues published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Metro Working Mom Magazine, Asian Quality Magazine and Management Systems Magazine. The title “People at Work” is the former name of the career and workplace subsection of the Business Section in the Philippine Daily Inquirer which I conceptualized and founded in May 2000. I also served as its first editor and advice columnist until 2006. The “People at Work” Subsection (now called “Working People”) was the first section in a daily broadsheet in the Philippines to publish articles on career and workplace issues. Today, I am pleased to see that such a section is already a regular feature in most daily broadsheet newspapers paving the way for more interest in career development and human resource management and development issues.
An “accidental” human resource professional, I have worked in human resources management and organizational development for more than 30 years. A Journalism graduate, I furthered my studies by completing a Master’s in Business Administration degree in 1989 from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business in Makati, Philippines and a Ph.D. degree in Leadership Studies Major in Public Management in 2016 from the Ateneo School of Government in Loyola Campus, Quezon City, Philippines. In 2007, I started teaching in the academe, first at Assumption College, Makati, then at the Graduate School of the Development Academy of the Philippines in Ortigas, Pasig City, Victoria University Switzerland (Philippine Campus), Ateneo de Manila University (Loyola, Rockwell and Ortigas campuses) and the Asian Institute of Management.
I am a believer in continuous learning and I hope to complete the circle of my life by utilizing my God-given strengths to be a more effective communicator in the service of learning and human development.

Hello,
you wrote a review of one of my books, Emotional Intelligence at Work. My new book, Performing Under Pressure: the Science of doing your best when it matters most (Crown) was listed on the March 15th NY Times bestsellers list.
